WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A motorcyclist died in a Saturday night crash, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers say that on Saturday just before 9 p.m., they responded to a crash on I-285 southbound, near mile marker 101.
They say a motorcycle going very fast in the southbound lanes was “weaving in and out of traffic.” The rider, Hector Manuel Virgen, 28, of Gastonia, hit a Dodge van and a Hyundai car and then ran off the road, hitting an embankment.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was hurt and no one will be charged.
